He Jiangong

He Jiangong is a graduate of Beijing Medical College with a degree in medicine chemistry. Prior to working for NCPC R&D, he was trained in TOKYO KITASATO Institute, Japan, engaged in the research works on the bioactive substances originated from microorganism from 1988 to 1990.

As a senior professional engineer, he is prominent in the fields of genetic engineering and microbial fermentation, with a principal focus on novel active ingredients origin from microbial substances development. In recent years, he leads the discovery research activities of novel immunological drugs, antihyperlipidemic drugs, e.g. cyclosporine, lovastatin. Under his leadership, NCPC R&D achieved an outstanding record in development quality, speed and productivity, resulting in a full product pipeline recognized as one of the most successful in the industry.

      He Jiangong serves as several editorial boards and has worked with national policy and scientific committees, including those of the National Pharmacopeia Committee. He has been honored with many awards and distinguished lectureships, e.g. a member of Chinese Pharmaceutical Association.
